Our Story
ROFRONT
The ROFRONT Association is a strategic national network dedicated to consolidating cross-border cooperation and regional development at Romania’s borders.
Founded on the principles of transparency and partnership, our mission is to facilitate access to European funding and support the implementation of projects that bring concrete benefits to local communities. We act as a link between authorities, institutions, and citizens in Romania and neighbouring countries, transforming border challenges into opportunities for growth and innovation.
OUR MISSION
Our work is guided by a core set of principles designed to maximize the impact of cross-border cooperation and foster a more integrated and prosperous Europe. Our main objectives, as outlined in our statute, are to:
Promoting Cooperation
We actively promote cross-border cooperation, recognising it as a fundamental mechanism for connecting communities and fostering their shared potential for regional growth and sustainable development. We believe that by building bridges across borders, we can overcome historical divisions and work together on common challenges, from economic development to cultural exchange and environmental protection. Our goal is to inspire and support collaborative initiatives that have a lasting positive effect on the lives of citizens.
Strengthening Capacity
We are committed to consistently enhancing the administrative and institutional capabilities of our BRCT members. Through targeted training, knowledge sharing, and expert consultation, we ensure that our members are equipped with the skills and resources needed for effective program implementation and management. By strengthening the capacity of our network, we not only improve the success rate of cross-border projects but also build a foundation of expertise that serves the entire region.
National & European Representation
We serve as a unified voice for our network, representing the collective interests of our BRCTs in dialogues with national and European institutions. Our role is to ensure that the perspectives and needs of our border regions are heard and addressed in policy-making processes. By advocating for our members, we contribute to the development of more effective and responsive cross-border cooperation policies and secure the resources necessary for our regions to thrive.

Cross-Border Programmes
Our member BRCTs serve as Joint Secretariats and play crucial roles in the implementation of various cross-border cooperation programmes. ROFRONT, as an association, actively supports and promotes the achievements of these programmes, which aim to stimulate economic growth, social development, and environmental protection in the border regions.
