About the project:
The “Sustainable Joint Network of the Emergency Situations in Banat” project was designed to address the challenges of managing cross-border emergencies in the Banat region, specifically in Caraș-Severin and Timiș counties in Romania and the South Banat district in Serbia. The initiative recognised the increasing frequency of natural disasters, such as floods, forest fires, and storms, due to climate change. The core goal was to enhance the operational and institutional capacity of local authorities to prevent, mitigate, and respond to these emergencies in a coordinated and effective manner.
The project established a joint intervention framework, fostering collaboration among partners to create a unified approach to disaster management. A key achievement was the development of a Green IT Platform Warning Joint Network, which serves as a crucial tool for communication and early warning. By providing essential equipment, delivering specialised training, and organising tactical exercises, the project significantly improved the readiness and response capabilities of the involved regions.
